Nitrous oxide cart for pain relief
During childbirth, women can have the desire for pain relief. Pain relief can be done with the aid of nitrous oxide. Nitrous oxide (50% N2O and 50% O2) is a fast-acting pain-killer that is administered with the aid of a mask. The gas is only supplied during the contraction to suppress the worst pain. Nitrous oxide is administered only under the supervision of midwives in the birth center, birth clinics, within a delivery complex or a Mother and Child Department.
For this specific application Jansen Medicars has developed a compact nitrous oxide cart. This cart is based on the Flexx two 54-100 cart and can be expanded with various accessories. The shown configuration is equipped with a bottle holder for three bottles; 2 nitrous oxide cylinders (Ø140mm) and one oxygen cylinder (Ø100mm). The oxygen cylinder may be used after childbirth for the supply of supplemental oxygen. Furthermore, the cart is equipped with two hooks for storing hoses. The drawer and the basket provide sufficient storage space for all accessories (hoses, masks, valves, gloves, etc).
